The Harova Project

It is estimated that Jaffa is the most ancient of the city in Israel with 4000 years of documented history. Many people ruled it, including Egyptians, Hittites, Canaanites, Philistines, Jews, Muslims, Crusaders, and Ottomans. Many famous historical personalities visited it, including Pharaoh, Jonah the Prophet, Alexander the Great, Judah Hamaccabi, Nikanor, Titus, Salah al-Din, Napoleon, Abu-Nabut, Allenby, Ben Gurion. All of them built, destroyed and re-built it, which provides much work for archeologists, historians, and restoration companies. It's now Huldai's (the mayor of Tel-Aviv) turn. Jaffa has been built and restored with unprecedented momentum since mid-2004. The academic college was transferred to Jaffa and dorms for students and lecturers become available. The Peres Center for Peace will open in 2006.
